Nikon D90 Comparison
The Nikon D90 DSLR is my favorite camera and here's why:
I really love my Nikon D90 dslr package . It comes with an incredible mix of features that will make any level photographer happy. I have been very impressed with the D90. I'm comparing it to the D40. It takes significantly better pictures because of its larger dynamic range and better colors (ADR) and better white balance. Overall after shooting a few thousand pictures with it my rating would be 92-95/100.

Nikon D90 Digital SLR comparison Highlights:
Nikon D90 comparison with D40, Canon Rebel XSi and the Canon 40D.
The Nikon D90 is the first DSLR camera to feature an HD video mode. While most reviews take on it is that it isn’t fully there yet, its still a nice addition to a great prosumer camera. The LCD screen is large and high resolution. As far as image quality, right out of the box the Nikon D90 excels using it on simple auto setting. The camera is feature packed and buttons are within easy access without having to dig through a bunch of menus to find them. Many people rave about it being the ideal camera between the lower priced models and more expensive pro dslr cameras.
The Nikon D40 is the less expensive dslr from Nikon. It’s a popular entry level camera for digital photography and a good choice if you’re upgrading from a simple point and shoot camera. The LCD screen is 2.5 inches with 6 MP resolution for clear viewing. Shooting speed has a maximum shutter speed of 2.5 frames per second with 3 point autofocus. For action shots the the D90 is probably a better choice. The D40 is a good choice for an entry level dslr camera.
The Canon EOS Digital Rebel XSi
Another 12 MP dslr camera the Canon EOS Digital Rebel XSi also rates highly for it’s image quality and feature packed value. Even in automatic mode, beginners can get excellent image quality shots. The LCD screen is 3” and like the D90 comes with live view. Shooting speed comes in at 3.5 frames per second. It has 9 autofocus points and comes with an image stabilization kit for the lens that allows you to get sharp action photos.
Nikon D90 best in comparison
Just wow. The rear screen is sharp and bright. The ability to shoot 720P video is nice but is limited by a lack of automatic focus. The resulting video is very sharp as the DSLR's lens are bigger than anything short of a professional video camera. Nice for an occasional video but not a full replacement I am amazed at the quality. I took photos at ISO 3200, and they are nearly the same quality as the D50 at ISO 400. Nikon has finally solved their noise issues!!
Nothing like my D90!
If your are not pro and only want a VERY GOOD DSLR professional style this is a good and wonderful option, believe me I am so pleased with this camera. I know it was more than the Canon but the camera FEELS like it should be more than the Canon. The Nikon D90 feels like a higher end professional Digital SLR camera.
